Week 41 Kicking Kellen Out

Well his due date has come and gone and still no sign of Kellen. I truly wanted to avoid being induced at all costs..... however this last month has been very hard on me and I am ready to get this show on the road. We packed up the car with the birthing ball, boppy, my suitcase, Kellen's bag, cooler and Daddy's bag. We looked like we were moving in!

After checking in we were given a very nice birthing suite overlooking Wellington Regional Lake. It has a beautiful fountain that puts on a light show at night. Our neighbor Nilda is a nurse here and pulled some strings to get us the suite. I feel like Angelina Jolie!

Last night I was still 2 centimeters dilated so they started me on a 12 hour dose of cervidel. Daddy went out to dinner and brought me back a nice meal with some Rita's for dessert. We watched some TV and then I was given a sleeping pill at 10pm. We both fell asleep pretty quickly. Daddy slept in the room next to us on a pull out cot. It was so sweet!

First thing this am they started me on the pitocin. Now all we do is wait for the contractions to begin. My nurse Michelle says some women have they babies by afternoon some it takes 2 days. Just what I need to hear with my stubborn wittle guy! We could be here all week! Doctor Emerick has been checking in with us and will be here to deliver Kellen. Having him here for that was s very important to me.

Well that's all the news from room 259 next time I write Kellen's journey will be over but his new life adventure with us will be just beginning!

I saw the picture of Kellen on your myspace page. He looks like a Cook although I'm probably basised since I've never met the Pike except for Daddy. I can't wait to hear about your incredible experience but no hurry. I'm sure your spending all of your time just loving your baby boy...that's the way it should be. Congrats again
