Kellen's First Weeks

It's only been a 11 days since Kellen arrived and it feels like he has always been apart of our lives. When we were having a hard time conceiving and I was pretty down in the dumps my friend Danielle told me "You guys are just waiting for the right baby, the perfect baby for you". I cannot tell you how right she was. He is so perfect for us.

Bringing him home from the hospital was very exciting! When we pulled into the driveway we were greeted by a giant stork in our yard. I was so surprised of course I started to cry. I had mentioned I wanted one back when I was 5 months and Daddy remembered. Kellen was pretty impressed as well! Grandma and Aunt Emily were waiting and they let the pups come running out to greet us. They were so excited to see me that they failed to notice Kellen. Once inside they sniffed and sniffed and Skyler gave him a bath with his tongue. It was so sweet!
Kellen's room has been ready and waiting for him for months. However after having him sleep right next to me at the hospital the thought of putting him in his crib while I was in our room terrified me. Grandma surprised us with a beautiful bassinet so he can sleep next to our bed. Now if we could only get him to sleep in it! It's a long story but Kellen loves to sleep on his tummy on my chest. He cries when we put him on his back.... it's a wittle problem we are working on.

We had our first doctor's appointment and Kellen baptised our doctor right away. It was pretty funny! Everything checked out A-OK and we go back next week again. I cannot wait to see how much he weighs. He eats and eats and eats! Just like his Daddy!

I am feeling pretty good, moving slow. You never realize how much you need your stomach muscles till someone cuts through them! Little things like walking or sitting or breathing hurt like hell! I also am not allowed to drive, swim, ho tub, dance, or generally have any fun at all for two weeks. I am so anxious to get back into the gym and start losing this baby weight. Hopefully soon enough.

Grandma & Aunt Emily left to go back home today. They have been so amazing and so much help. There is no way I could have done this without them. Grandma has been so helpful and given me so much advice and has already spoiled Kellen rotten with every little thing he needs. I feel beyond blessed to have her as my Mom.
Kellen is waking up from his nap and I have about 30 seconds to feed him or man can he scream! He already knows he's the boss, and I would not have it any other way.

I remember when we brought Maddox home...he loved to sleep on my chest as well! Every stage is incredible but I miss those days! They get so big...so fast. Don't worry about the bassinet or crib...your skin and heart beat are much better! Maddox never used his bassinet and we are still working on the crib. I have to get back to work but enjoy your baby. Lots of love,
Chandra
