28 Weeks ~ Kellen on the Move

Funny how quickly things change, especially with a baby. Last week I was able to sit him in his walker and run around the house and get some work done, or take a potty break, or grab a quick bite to eat...... and then Kellen went from zero to zoom. First I found him up against my "office" aka our computer hutch and he was pulling folders and papers off and looking for something to stick in his mouth. Then last night he was chasing Skyler around the house and rammed right into our standing lamp, which then fell right towards him. I was standing right there to catch it, thank goodness. This morning when I peeked in on him he is sleeping with his tusshie in the air... which means Ive been told that crawling is not far behind. Our furry babies are going to be thrilled!

Kellen's love of the water continues to grow. We had him in a heated pool two weeks ago and he was like a wittle fishy... or perhaps a turtle. Mommy even took him right under all the way. He kicked and splashed and laughed. Before you ask of course we have it on video and I am hoping to have it up on you tube at some point today. I would love to continue his swimming lessons... we are just waiting on Daddy to line us up a heated pool to use till our Florida weather warms up a bit and we can use ours. So for now he swims in the tubby with his squirt toys. I really see a future Pleasant Ridge Piranha here! He will follow in his Mommy and all of his Aunt's and his Uncle Allan's swimmy footsteps. Watch out West High! I started out on swim team when I was five years old and was on the Pleasant Ridge Piranhas till I was 18. Then I became a lifeguard and taught swimming lessons. Daddy loves to swim to and thinks he could beat Michael Phelps in a race.... I'm not kidding. So Kellen should be a really great swimmer & really super confident!

Whoever said shopping for little boys is no fun... obviously has no clue how to do it. I love love love shopping for my turtle. I cant seem to stop and since he is out growing outfits every week I have a good excuse to keep shopping. Old Navy & Baby Gap have the most adorable, yet super stylish outfits that just fit Kellen's needs of fashion & function. Plus they have really great sales, so I just check the website every few days and I really clean up on the deals. Plus Daddy dose not mind so I do not even need to hide the clothes like I used to do for me. It's a win win!

This past weekend Chris and I took Kellen over to hang out with his friend Jack again. It was really amazing to see the two of them together. Jack is already crawling all over the place and can pull himself up, and is even talking. This kid is advanced! Kellen drooled a lot and he chattered a bit. Hopefully hanging out with Jack will get Kellen moving! After we went down to City Place to walk around and have some dinner. It was such a nice Sunday together as a family!

As each day passes I try and make sure to spend just a little more time rocking Kellen. Holding him close and snuggling him, just making each second count. They really do grow so fast and I want to make sure when I look back at his first year that I have no regrets.
