Kellen 13 Months

Our Turtle is still not walking, and to be honest with you I am perfectly fine with it. I know a lot of Moms would be upset, perhaps even worried that their baby is falling behind. But not me! Kellen will walk when he is ready and he will talk when he is ready, and he will move out when he is ready! Now this is not to say we do not encourage him to take steps when he makes a move to walk, and we work everyday on his words and sign language. We just are letting him learn at his own pace.

Soleil and Kellen are trying to learn to get along as well. Not as easy as you would think, Kellen wants her toys and his toys and vice versa. Soleil wants to bite his ears and tackles him like a linebacker as soon as he starts crawling. It's so bad that as soon as she gets anywhere near him he dives over his toys and grabs his ears to protect them from her sharp puppy teeth. I feel as if I am constantly scolding her, but we must make sure to be strict with her. Putting in the hard work with a puppy now will assure that you have a wonderful dog to enjoy!

We are now on our once a week My Gym and Kellen really loves it. His teachers are so cool, plus they LOVE him. Miss Allison insists that Kellen should be on TV and loves to squeeze his chunky legs and cheeks. Miss Jenny adores him and gives him so much love, but his favorite teacher is Tom. He really loves Kellen, he says he is the coolest kid ever and wishes he had 260 Kellen's to teach each day. I know that you may think they say this to every parent, but I am telling you no way, they really love him. Kellen would prefer to sit in the balls for the entire class, so it takes some effort to get him to

play with the other gym items and babies. Each week we learn a new song and dance, a new practice skill, and a new fun game. Plus they get to crawl around the gym and do what ever they want and for Kellen it's those flipping balls. At the end of each class Tom puts on a little puppet show and we sing the goodbye song, clap and then we hip hip hooray and it's bye bye time!

We have book time every nap and bedtime. Kellen is very, very picky when it comes to his stories. I have written before about how he will push away any books he does not like and when you pull one he loves he sits back against your chest and makes the cutest sigh. Right now his reading list consists of There's a Wocket in My Pocket, Perfect Pets, Sam Sheep Can't Sleep, Spot Loves His Daddy, and Winter. He will make you read Wocket In My Pocket four tim
