Kellen is jabbering a way a little more each and everyday, however his language sounds more like Turtle speak than anything we have ever heard. He understands everything we say but when we ask him to explain what he wants the gibberish starts to fly. We know that to his little ears he is expressing what he wants in perfect detail.... however somehow it gets lost in translation. But if there is a cat, dog, bird, fish, ball, or anything hot around him he will let you know 100 times. Our task of learning to share is going just about as well as his language skills. Kellen just thinks that everything is his and he can take anything he wants and he does so with complete entitlement. Rest assured that we are not allowing this behavior to fly. We nip it in the bud immediately but Kellen is such a stubborn little guy. When he is in the balls or on the trampoline at My Gym he feels very strongly that he should be the only one. Thank the lord he does not get physical with any of the other kids, he just makes a loud annoying cry and looks to me to stop the madness. The other Mom's in our meet up group assure me that this is normal and to keep up the good work and he will soon learn. So that's the plan.
Speaking of our Mommy Meet Up group we really love it. There is always so much for Kellen and I to do each and every week. We went strawberry picking today with 8 other Mom's and tot's and it was so much fun. Next week we have a Easter Egg Hunt and party and we even get together just us Mom's for a night out just for us. It's really great to make some new friends for me and for Kellen.
Our Turtle is really ramping up his eating and I could not be happier. We went through a period where he would not eat more than a few bites per meal. But now he sits and slowly dines on the gourmet meals I prepare. Now if you wait to long to feed him he goes over and drags his high chair into the kitchen. Hint, hint. We are still on one bottle right before bed, but that's more of Mommy trying to hang on to her baby boy. I just cannot grasp the fact that Kellen is going to be two. What happened to the past two years??? How can I get them back?
