Kellen 2 Months

We knew that we had a big baby on our hands but even we were surprised at this weeks doctors visit. Kellen weighed in at 15 pounds 3 ounces and is 24 inches. Our Doctor says he weighs as much as a 6month old and is off the charts. A 6 month old! I really was worried that she was going to put my baby on a diet and he would hate that.... and I have to live with him! But she said his length is consistent with his height. So no diets for Kellen. Also no shots for Kellen. Our doctors office will not allow a delayed/selective vaccination schedule so we have been booted from the practice. We have a meeting with another pediatrician Thursday so hopefully he will work with us to protect Kellen from both serious illness and what we believe is over vaccination.

We are still struggling with sleepy time at night. Some nights he will go 5 hours and then other nights like last night we only make it for 2 hours at a time. Our main struggle is he loves to sleep in the "turtle position" on his tummy. He hates sleeping on his back. Tummy sleeping is still a big NO NO.... so we will continue to struggle. He is almost to big for his bassinet. The instructions claim he should be able to sleep in it till he is 6 months old or 15 pounds. I am hoping to keep him in it till he is 3 months. I am just not ready to put my baby in his own room.

Funny face time is now our favorite activity.... even more than tummy time! Daddy and I make faces, stick our tongue out, and coo at him. He tries so hard to imitate us and many times is right on. It's so adorable and amazing to watch him learn and grow each day. A true blessing.
I have to say I hit the Daddy lottery when it comes to Chris. He is so fantastic with him. We really are a team and it makes being a Mommy so much easier. Daddy gets home from work and takes Kellen so I can go to the gym. He also takes him on Friday and Saturday nights so that I can catch up on my sleep. It's such a huge help.... I know everyone will say it's his job. But I have heard such horror stories from other Mom's. I am just so thankful. I love being with Kellen but it's so nice to go to the gym and work on just me for a few hours.
