Kellen Pike 4 President~ 14 Weeks

What a truly amazing week this has been. President Obama! I took Kellen with me to vote on Tuesday. All the little old ladies fawned all over him and he even got his own I Voted Sticker. But the real story will be that Daddy and I witnessed history in the making. Not only the first African American man put into the white house but what I feel with all my heart is a truly great man. Someone who is really going to bring about great change, unity and greatness for America. I stayed up to watch Obama make his speech and was moved to tears as I watched Kellen sleep. Is this how my parents felt watching Martin Luther King speak? I have never, ever been so moved or had such great hope in a politician. I know this will be a story I share with Kellen when he is older. A way to teach him diversity, love for all races and more importantly you really can be anything you want to when you grow up.

We had our monthly trip to the doctor yesterday. Kellen was given 2 more vaccines one for HIB and one for Polio. He was such a big boy! He did not even shed one single tear. Mommy cried enough for the both of us. This visit he weighed in at 18pounds 5 ounces. LOL. My little butterball. He is quickly moving into 6 to 9 month clothing and his head is so big I have to really cram it into his onesies. He is making shopping for the future very hard on Mommy!

Kellen and I took our run through the park yesterday and we tried the baby swings out. At first he was terrified of sitting in it by himself. But after a few pushes and me holding on to his hand he started to laugh, giggle and squeak! It was so adorable! He had so much fun I think we will swing by the park each day now.

Sunday will bring Mommy and Daddy's first night out alone together since Kellen was born. We are going with our friends to see Coldplay in concert. Pike set up a limo to take us all down and we are really excited to go. My neighbor Jill who has a 2 year old son Tanner will be babysitting for us. Thank god for her. Because there is no way I could leave him with a stranger. Which is exactly why we have decided that I will not be returning to work full time. The thought of having to leave him each day was more than we could bare. We have had to buckle down really tightly and its going to be pretty rough for awhile. But we are determined to make it work. I have been looking for work at home jobs..... but they are all either scams or phone sex operators. It's to bad I cant get paid for blogging! Or for my useless knowledge of Hollywood gossip.
