Kellen turns 6 months

We are finally settling back into our routine and I am very happy to report Kellen is finally sleeping in his room. Well for most of the night...... lol. There have been an occasional night where his diaper has leaked onto the bed and I just do not have enough steam to clean him up and change the sheets. So I bring him into our bed for the last 2 hours. I know I know.... that's bad and yadda yadda yadda. But it's 4am!

For his 5 month vaccination visit I asked them to weigh our Turtle.... 22 pounds. His legs are so beefy he dose not even make a peep when the nurse gave him the shots. We are now wearing 12 to 18 month clothing. He just keeps growing and growing. He is now reaching for everything he can get his chunky little hands on and putting it right in his mouth. He loves to give hugs and wet open mouth sloppy kisses. It's so sweet. He continues to be a very very happy baby. We are so blessed.

Today Kellen turns 6 months old. I know people say it time and time again..... but wow. They grow up so fast. It seems like yesterday we were bringing him home. Wondering how we were going to take care of this little blessing. So worried about being good parents and knowing what to do and when to do it. Time really flies when you are having the time of your life discovering your child, learning who you are, and trying to grow as parents and as a couple.
Chris and I have had our stumbling blocks as we learn how to adjust from married life to married with children life. It's not easy... and can put the strongest marriage to the test. Especially when you are so far away from your family. But thank goodness we are lucky to have dear friends who have really helped us fight.... I mean talk out our differences. I feel we are stronger and happier and trying very hard to balance work, family time, and making time for each other.

Kellen still loves going to the park. The swings are really all he can handle right now. Daddy pushes him so high I have a heart attack with every push. But Kellen loves it, he giggles and laughs. I am a little more conservative with my pushes. Then on the way home he takes a nice nap. He can now sit in the jogging stroller alone, without the car seat. He has his shades on, puppy and oui. It's so adorable, last week he dropped puppy and I was running and never saw him fall. Had to go driving round looking for him later that day...we have extras just for this reason, but found the little guy anyway. I am happy to report that I have lost a total of 50 pounds and only have 17 more to go till I am back at my pre-pregnancy weight. When I get there Daddy has to buy me a whole new wardrobe. His reward to me.... partly because I think he thought I would never get there! I am going to let him off the hook.... as much as I would love to stimulate the economy I think we should save our pennies for a rainy day..... in Cincinnati!

Hi Eileen! He looks so much older...it's crazy! And 50 pounds!!!! OMG that is awesome. It's really amazing that the female body has the ability go back to almost "normal" after such a metamorphosis (we rock!). You inspired me to start a blog for Maddox but I haven't added much yet. You can view it at themaddoxmoonblog.blogspot.com. This summer we are saving our pennies also, to go to Colorado for my family reunion...so hopefully I'll get to see you when you come back up for Kellen's 1st b-day. Speaking of which...Maddox turns 1 on Saturday the 31st. We had to cancel to big boys party because we think he has the chicken pox:( He wasn't due to get vaccinated until his 1 year check up:(
Glad to hear everything is going well...Oh and tell Chris they don't say, "Mommy's always right", for nothing! You go girl!

Lots of Love, Hugs and open mouth sloberry kisses-Chandra, Chad, McKinzie, and Maddox!
