Christmas Card Guilt

Last year I wrote about how Kellen would be gracing our family Christmas card alone, but I promised that our pups would be back next year. Never in ten million years could I conceive that both of our beloved babies would be gone and that we would be celebrating Christmas without them.

Our babies loved Christmas, loved it. They knew once the tree went up and their stockings were hung that soon they would get to open lots of presents and they could open them without any help from us. Kiara loved getting raw hide bones and Skyler's favorite stocking stuffer was squeaky tennis balls. The thought of celebrating without them this year is devastating, I try to think back to the truly amazing time we had with them last year in Cincinnati. I am so thankful for those memories.

Normally I have our Christmas cards all planned out by Thanksgiving. I know where we will take the photo and what we will be wearing and what jazzy happy holiday greeting I will write. But this year I just cant seem to even think about it. Now it's December and getting closer and closer to Christmas, and I finally have come up with a plan. There will not be a family photo this year, no red sweaters and santa hats. But there will still be a card coming soon to a mailbox near you.
