Our 18 Month Old Check Up

Our favorite Nurse Practitioner Angie was the one to give Kellen his check up. Kellen really loves her, she is so sweet and really has a gentle touch. Our Turtle weighed in at 30 pounds 5 ounces and 33 inches in height, he is hitting all his milestones right on target. Since we are still pushing the MMR & Chickenpox vaccines Kellen escaped without a shot. It was really quick and painless, well for Kellen anyway. Angie let me know that when Kellen wakes up at 4 am and screams for 2 hours I have to let him cry. I have been going in after an hour and rocking him back to sleep but she informed that's a big no, no. It breaks my heart to hear him scream and cry and then he throws all his puppies and oui out on the floor so he has nothing to comfort him. But she is right and I have been very strong and each night the time he cries is a little less and a few times he has slept thur the night.

Walking is now a thing of the past, Kellen wants to run everywhere, which means he is falling everywhere too. So far there has not been a serious one, and he jumps right up dusts off his hands and takes off. I am going to make a video next time we take one of our walks, it's so funny to watch him, quite a few of our neighbors love to come out and watch him.

This month we went to a Valentine's Day Party with our mommy group. There was so much sugar, and candy, cookies, juice boxes and cake. But Kellen only wanted some gold fishy crackers, I had his own juice, he didn't even reach for a cookie or candy. I know I cant keep the junk away from him forever, but we really want him to have healthy eating habits as much as possible. The kids handed out a valentine to each other and that was about the only contact Kellen had, he really is not interested in playing with the other kids just yet. Our NP says that will come in time, for now he can just play with us.
