How come no one ever told us how amazing it is to be a Mommy & Daddy? We are having the time of our lives with our wittle guy. Every day is a something new and exciting for him. At 3 weeks old he has changed so much since he was born. He is very alert now and always looking around making adorable faces and expressions of wonder. Especially when I am breastfeeding.... the way he looks at me makes me cry every single time! He still has very little control over his arms and legs and it's so funny to watch him try and get his hand in his mouth. He only has one cry and that is feed me! You cannot imagine how much he eats! Breastfeeding alone is not enough, I have no choice but to supplement with formula. Nana thinks he will be eating cereal much sooner than four months. Kellen is going to be a very big boy!
We went to the doctor again for a check up and because Kellen managed to scratch his eye. It swelled up and he could not open it. I was a mess seeing him that way. But thank goodness it cleared it's self up after a few days. Now we are wearing our mittens! Kellen weighed in at 9 pounds and 15 ounces... he gained back all the weight he lost after birth and then some!
This past week his umbilical cord fell off and he is now sporting an adorable belly button. We also had our very first tubby time. He really seemed to enjoy most of it, till I put water over his head... then the crying began. We are still having sleeping issues.... the issue being that he loves to sleep on our chest. We have had a few nights of success and then the next night we are right back to the drawing board. It's very hard to get by with limited sleep.... but I swear I love him so much I really don't mind. Daddy thinks I kick his bassinet to make him cry just so I can hold him.... but I swear I'm innocent!
Christopher's family was here this past week and having their help was so wonderful. I could take a nap, eat and have a shower. Very very fabby! I am feeling a little better but still moving pretty
slow. I tried to drive and found out how very painful that was. Really looking forward to being back to normal very soon!
