December was a whirl, a blur and holy crap very very exciting! I apologize greatly for my absence however Mommy was super busy, shopping and packing for our long awaited trip home to Cincinnati for Kellen's very first Christmas. What a truly amazing time was had by all.... even Kiara and Skyler gave the vacation 4 paws up!
The drive up was complete torture as I am sure you can imagine. Two 80 pound ponies, a baby and all his gear, a 6 foot giant and a lil polky Mommy all crammed into the Toyota 4-Runner. To say we were cozy is a lovely way to describe it! Thank goodness we stopped in South Carolina to visit with our dear friend Marilyn. It was such a nice break and wonderful to spend time with her.

Once we pulled into Cincy it was very very cold, and it even got colder. But Kellen rolled right with it. He was such a trooper even though we were completely off his schedule, and his cute little butt hardly touched a seat. He loved spending time with all his cousins, Aunts, Uncles and of course his Grandma, Grumppa, Nana and Papa. To say he was a perfect baby would be such an understatement. He smiled and laughed and charmed the pants off everyone who met him.
Christmas Eve we spent with my family. It was a crazy fun filled night, that started off with Natalie finding the pickle on Grandma's tree. Rules are rules so she not only got to open the first present but she also was allowed to pick which one. After that it was a blur of wrapping paper, tissue, and shiny bows. Kellen loved opening his presents and putting the paper right in his mouth. Adorable right? His Uncle Allan gave him a lovely and very noisy Bongo andMaraca set. Payback from 7 years of me buying the most loud annoying toys I could find for his kids. It was always funny till it happens to you! We sang Christmas Carols and drank wine, and it was truly a perfect night for me, and I will always treasure it.
To be honest with you, I never think I truly appreciated Christmas till this year with Kellen. For the first time ever I did not care if I got a single gift. In fact Daddy and I did not even exchange gifts. This trip home was our gift to each other. This year I just wanted to be with my family, to have Kellen and Chris, and my pups and just enjoy each other. And I got exactly what I wanted.

Christmas day was spent with Pike's family and although it was much quieter without four children hopped up on candy canes and eggnog running through the house trying to ride Kiara and Skyler. It was still another perfect day. Kellen loved looking at the Christmas Tree and enjoyed all the wrapping of his presents ha! I loved watching Kellen with his Aunt Stephy and Nana and Papa. I took such joy out of the love that surrounded him. Did I say I loved our Christmas home???? Yeah. Perfection.
With Christmas over we still had some crazy days ahead of us. Part 2 of our trip very soon.... Mommy has to get some sleep!
