Kellen Turns 9 Months

Rocking my baby to sleep tonight is something he has not allowed me to do in at least two months. I treasured every second of it and of course cried as we swayed back and forth. The i pod was gently crooning and it just made me realize that we blinked and Kellen is now 9 months old. To say that time flies is such an understatement. It flashes, zooms, and takes your breath away.

Kellen weighed in at this month's checkup at 25 pounds 8 ounces, he is 29 inches and his head is a walking candy apple!  All the nurses bum rush us as we walk into our Doctor's small office. They grab his chunky feet and legs, squeeze his adorable belly, and lastly pinch his pudgy cheeks.

He is hitting all of his milestones right on target. Even though he has yet to start crawling up on his hands and knees he can really move fast on his belly. Sitting him in his play area and running around cleaning or working is no longer an option. Once he notices that you are not there he takes off searching for you or trouble... whichever is closer!  But he is up on hands and knees rocking to and fro. So it will not be much longer.

We had our very first adventure in the skies above last month. Kellen and I flew home to Cincinnati to visit and for Grandma's 60TH birthday. He was such a good baby, a little squirmy but who can blame him? There is just no room for a chunky monkey & his Mommy on those crappy planes. Both times he fell asleep as we came crashing, bumping and jerking to the ground. It was pretty cute. I lost track of how many people stopped me to talk to him, big blue eyes and smiling cheeks just make everyone smile.

Once home we worked very hard to balance our time between both families. Not an easy task, trust me.  Plus we were sneaking around trying to surprise Grandma with pictures of her grandchildren, plan a party, and yadda yadda yadda. Daddy really, really missed us and even though we had a great time, we were so happy to be home.

Today was a really, really really long day. Kellen has two very large chick-lets poking their way through his upper gums. Oh and did I mention the gap? Yep a big ole gap!  He did not get that from me!  Today Kellen was running a slight fever and needed lots of TLC. He could not get enough of his teething rings  and he even bite me three times!  How many teeth do babies get?  We have so much more to catch up on, plus Skyler has his check up tomorrow. Paws crossed we will have great news again
