Life With The Turtle~ 27 Weeks

How is it possible that with each passing day I find I love this baby more than yesterday? There are no words to describe the bonding, the closeness, the complete happiness he brings to me and to Daddy.

We took Kellen to the South Florida Fair this past weekend. For those of you not from South Florida our fair is a real, honest to goodness fair... like you see in the movies. Drunken toothless carnies, lots of yummy cotton candy, elephant ears, Carmel apples and corn dogs. There are carnival games you can never win, and pig races, cows, chickens, and even bunnies. There are insane rides( which we do not get on... thanks to Dateline) and then of course my favorite the Ferris wheel. But we just walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere and some french fries this year. But Kellen really enjoyed it. He sat up in his stroller and did some people watching, he took a few naps, and enjoyed a very close encounter with a beautiful horse. It was just very nice to spend a lazy afternoon as a family.

Kellen's doctor visit this week went very well. He checked out healthy, and happy and is hitting all of his milestones right on target. This time he did cry from one of his vaccines, and then so did Mommy. Our turtle weighed in at 22 pounds 15 ounces and was 28 and a half inches long. Our nurse Angie laughed as she told us for the size of his head he is in the 100Th percentile. Yep... that's my boy!

Over the past few weeks Kellen has found his feet and they are his new favorite toy. He grabs them when he is eating, sleeping, swinging.... well you get the idea. Each time is like he is seeing them for the first time. So cute. He is also really testing his vocal chords out with
some lovely screaming. It's funny till you have to listen to it for 45 min's. Okay... and yes it's so cute! He is also sitting up all by himself and grabing everything he can get his paws on and of course giving it a taste test! But my favorite new trick is how his smile and face lights up when he sees you. How he laughs and reaches, and wraps his chubby arms around my neck and gives me a sloppy kiss. Yep... it's my fav!
